A few researcher announced the changes of electric resistance in the vicinity of 765° and 850° in molton aluminium and its alloys. The present authors studied the same problem by means of the direct and indirect methods : the former is the measurement of electric resistance which is mostly used in the previous investigation and the latter is the determination of the diffusion layers of steel by means of molton aluminium and its alloys at various temperature between 680∼800°. Adding a small amount of Fe and Si to the purest aluminium (99.97%), the changes of electric resistance are increased corresponding with the increasing content of these added elements.
Especially, the changes at 765° is effected more by increasing content of Fe and their magnitude is expanded to the changes at 850°. The rate of diffusion is remarkably retarded with increasing content of Si and reached the minimum point at 765°. The results obtained from these experiments show that the changes at 765° are probably due to the behaviour of impurity in the molton state. And the changes at 850° may be assumed to be due to the cybotactic change in the molton aluminium and its alloys.
