Boro-Carburizing of Iron and Steel Immersed in a Hot Bath Containing B₄C and BaO

Abstract:

A boro-carburizing method using a hot bath consisting of B₄C, BaO and alkali halides (KCl, NaCl) has been studied. The results obtained are summarized as follows.
(1) The following reactions seem to take place in the bath.
