Steels having high yield point for constructional use were investigated by adding various elements to low carbon steels. It was found that the steels with about 0.1% C alloyed with such elements as Mn, Si, Ni, Cu and Cr have yield point greater than 35kg/mm2 and the elongation (l=8d) not less than 21%. These high yield point steels can be used for constructoin with much higher allowable stress than the low carbon steels now used.
