Selective Oxidation of Alloys (1st Report) Oxidation of Cu-Be (1.5%) Alloy

Abstract:

A study has been made on Cu-Be (1.5%) alloy for secondary electron surface with regard to its surface condition and formation of oxide film by electron diffraction camera. These specimens were treated under various pressures between 1 and 10^-6 mmHg at various temperature within 400 and 900°. We observed the following three regions, namely, BeO, BeO+Cu₂O and BeO+Cu. Regarding the structual formation of these oxides, a brief discussion has also been made.
